Show & Tell Tuesday: Beauty

Beauty RoutineToday, I am linking up with Andrea to talk about my beauty routine.

I always love looking at other peoples beauty posts to learn of new products and techniques that they use so I cant wait to look through all of those who link up today!

Ok, lets get to it!

I have tried several different moisturizers but always come back to Sephora’s Instant Moisturizer.

I received this primer in one of my last Ipsy bags and have been using it ever since. I think a full size will be added to my next Sephora haul.

I started wearing Tarte’s full coverage foundation in March and have been pleased with it ever since. My skin type is dry and this covers well without drying my face out even more.

This concealer was also an Ipsy find. You can buy it here.

I have been using Nars blush for years now. The color I prefer is called Orgasm which is a great coral color for those with dark features like me.

Ok, here is a secret. I hardly ever wear eye shadow. Literally I may wear it once a month. The way my eyes are shaped, I the hood of my eye covers the actual eye lid when I am awake so I feel like it is just a waste of my time to put it on unless it is a special occasion or I want to feel dressed up. When those time do occur, I use my Naked Palette.

For eyeliner, I use the cheap stuff. Right now I am using this Revlon color from Target.

Same goes for mascara. I had been using some from Benefit but I have to admit, I like this L’Oreal mascara just as well if not better than the expensive stuff!

As for lips, most of the time I am a gloss girl but once in a while when I like to rock a bold lip, I use this lip pencil. I received it in my Ipsy bag (see the trend?)  but have since bought the full size version.

In March, Sephora sent an email claiming I had a birthday gift for pickup. Lucky for me, it was these two lipstick pencils. Cruella is the perfect red!

To finish things up, I spritz on some Flowerbomb and I’m done!

I cant wait to read about everyone’s routine and get some new product inspiration! Also, if you are interested in signing up for Ipsy, click here.

Friday Favorites

Its Friday which means its time to share my weekly favorites with Narci, Erika, and Andrea. IMG_1317

Last Saturday, I spent the night in Nashville with these girls. We ate good, drank good, and sang our hearts out with the band at Tin Roof.

Last month I received this Julie nail polish in my Ipsy bag. I have used it all month and really like it. It goes on smooth and has great lasting power. The color I received is called “Damsel”

The thing I am most excited about this week is my girlfriend Jo finds out the sex of baby #2 today! She currently has a 10 month old little boy so we are all anxious to see if he will be a big brother to a little brother or little sister!

Happy Friday! I hope all of you moms get spoiled on Sunday!!

November Ipsy Bag Review

November’s Ipsy Bag was dedicated to all things GLITTER. With that being said, luckily the only glittery thing in my bag, was the bag itself!

In my bag, I received the following products:

  • SeaRX Micro-Dermabrasion Face & Beauty Scrub: C Nothing special about his scrub. I didn’t hate it but I dont love it either.
  • Be a Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base: A I really love the champagne color of this eye base. It works great under my Naked Palette but I have also been wearing it alone as a light day look.
  • Pixie Dust Roll on Perfume: F Before I received this, I read where others compared the smell to strawberry jello. After receiving the perfume myself, I can totally agree. This was way too sweet for me. I think it would better suit a pre-teen.
  • J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint: A+ I received the “Red Potion” color in this lip stain. The color is great for winter and it stays on throughout the day.
  • Tarte Maracuja Oil: A+ This is my first experience using an oil on my face, but after using this I can for sure say that it will not be my last. This oil has helped to even out my skin tone. It will be a repeat purchase.

October Ipsy Bag Review

With all of the beauty box options out there, it was hard deciding on which one to subscribe to. After reading sever reviews, I finally chose Ipsy. The price ($10/month) and  product brands that they send out seemed to fit my needs and wants the best. Last week, I received my first beauty bag from Ipsy and I am happy to say that they did not disappoint.

In my bag, I received the following products:

  • Doll 10 Highlighter: A+ This highlighter gives just enough shine on the cheekbones for dewy, glowing skin.
  • Figs and Rouge Handcream: B This hand cream smells nice but honestly there is nothing special about it. Just your average handcream
  • Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser: A This cleanser feels great on the skin and lathers up nice. After using it for over a week, I do feel that my skin has a healthier glow to it.
  • Skone Waterproof Eyeliner: A This is the first time in a long time that I have used a liquid liner. I tried to in high school but it always looked too “painted on” to me. This eyeliner gives a thin, delicate line.
  • Starlooks Lip Gloss: A+ I am definitely a lip gloss over lipstick kind of girl. This lip gloss is thick and wears well.
