Ahhh Monday, you always come so fast! We enjoyed our weekend in Birmingham where we spent too much money and had too much fun! I apologize in advance for the picture overload.
Friday, I worked half a day so that we could try and beat work traffic on the interstate. We were treated by Stan and Jackie (Chris’s aunt and uncle) to a delicious meal at Cantina Laredo in the new Uptown area of Birmingham. As usual, Chris and I split the beef fajitas which are the best fajitas I have had anywhere. Period. We returned to our hotel and called it an early night. We wanted to be rested for Saturday!
Saturday morning, we woke up and met with Brad and Adria for breakfast. We went to The Original Pancake House in the Five Points area. Chris had the Georgia Pecan and I had the Bacon Pancakes. Both were wonderful! After our bellies were full, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the graduation ceremony.
Luckily, there were enough seats available so that our family could all sit together. As you can see Bonnie was out for the count!
I couldn’t be any prouder of my husband! Anyone that has the privilege of being treated by him as a CRNP is lucky if you ask me!
After graduation, we did a quick wardrobe change, met up with friends, and headed back to Uptown to grab a bite to eat at Mugshots before the concert.
Such a fun and special weekend!
As of this past Friday, Chris’s title of CRNP is official.. he passed boards!! Thank goodness he did otherwise his surprise party on Saturday wouldn’t have been near as exciting ha!
First, let me just say that keeping a party in our home a secret from Chris may be one of the hardest things I have had to do since we got married. Every plan I made to get him out of the house Saturday seemed to backfire. Luckily, with the help of our friends Chris and Jo Mae, our final plan worked like a charm and he was so surprised!!
With our Christmas decorations already up, I really didn’t have to decorate much. I made this chalkboard pennant banner Thursday night after Chris went to bed. Easy and simple and went well with our rustic Christmas decor.
I found white tablecloths on sale at Target and used them along with a burlap runner that I purchased at Walmart for the tables. I then took cheap grapevine wreaths, added a few berry picks, and candles and voilà. Chris was out of the house by 8am that morning which gave me just the right amount of time before guests started arriving around 1230pm. Mom aka superwoman was at the house by 930am with most of the food. The fact that her and my father now own a restaurant sure does come in handy!
A full house of our closest family and friends, good food, achieved goals, and a BAMA win all made for the perfect Saturday afternoon! Thanks again to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. A huge thank you to those who worked with me behind the scenes to make it all happen! We love you all!!
